What is a Map Turtle?
Map Turtles (Graptemys sp) are a medium sized freshwater turtle. Males grow approximately four to five inches in size (shell front to back) and Females can grow to anything from Six to Ten inches in size, At adult size they should be kept in an aquarium with a minimum size of 36" x 18" x 18" Map Turtles are a basking species and so they require a landed area that has heating coming from above.
How do I keep a Map Turtle?
An ideal way to keep Map Turtles would be in a glass aquarium with a good filter (to keep water clean), a heater (to keep water at a constant 25 degrees), and UVB light (to encourage correct shell growth). They also need a landed area with a spot bulb or other heater where they can get out of the water and dry off- Turtle Docks can be used as landed areas or slate that has been securely placed on top of rocks.
What do I feed my Map Turtle?
Map Turtles are omnivores and in the wild would eat vegetation and such things as fish and insects. For you pet Map Turtle however, they are various complete dried and frozen foods that contain all of the animals dietary requirements.
How big and what sex will my Musk Turtle be?

Due to their size, Adult Map Turtles are sent through a specific courier whom make deliveries once a Month- If you would like to know when the next delivery is please contact us via email to find out, Otherwise if an order is made with no query it will automatically be put onto the next earliest available delivery and we will notify you by email of the expected Date of delivery.
Although Turtles and Terrapins are hardy little creatures, we still try to keep the stress caused by transporting them to a minimum. As consequence we do not accept returns on them so please make sure you definitely want them before ordering. In the unlikely event of your Turtle or Terrapin arriving dead we will arrange for another one to dispatched as soon as possible. Please note, we need to be notified within 24 hours of receiving the animal and we arrange for our courier to collect the dead Turtle/ Terrapin when they deliver the replacement. Due to the inherent risk of moving livestock we will only offer a free of charge replacement once. By purchasing livestock from us, you are thereby agreeing to our terms and conditions.
